Year 2018 saw substantial hikes in electricity prices at the Energy Exchange
As a result, sellers unsurprisingly increased their prices for industrial customers. However, this was done also by the sellers who earlier contractually promised to keep their prices unchanged, thus causing a major problem for various businesses, especially manufacturers for whom electricity is a major cost item. Fear of price volatility was precisely the reason why many of them decided to source their electricity supplies from vendors who guaranteed stable prices even if a bit above the market. Unfortunately, prices in 2018 were increased also by those vendors even by the order of two-digit percentages.
