Businesses are entitled to energy price cap in accordance with the law introducing extraordinary measures to limit electricity prices and support certain customers in 2023.

A change of electricity vendor does not strip business of the right to pay no more than the maximum price. But two scenarios should be distinguished here.

First of all, how the change of vendor affects on-going billing from 1 December 2022 to 31 December 2023. When they change their seller, businesses do not need to submit their declarations again, this time to the new seller. Neither are they required to amend their earlier declarations. In accordance with Article 7 of the subject law, the old vendor must forward the declaration to the new one. The new vendor must apply the maximum price as of the start of their supplies. Thus, maximum price continues to apply automatically without the need for the business to do anything.
