Polish businesses should make it clear that a whistleblower is not a snitch and should encourage employees to report violations.

The legislative pipeline of the Cabinet was updated in early October to include proposed legislation called the bill on the protection of persons reporting regulatory violations. The new regulation is intended to implement the EU whistleblower directive and is expected to be adopted by the Cabinet in the fourth quarter of 2021. The new requirements may trigger changes in business organisation cultures and in companies’ approach to reporting violations. Are Polish firms ready for the change?
